Pontianak The 25th grand event of the National Tilawatil Quran (STQ) Selection which took place in Pontianak, was utilized as much as possible to showcase typical West Kalimantan products. No exception for superior agricultural, food and horticultural products.
"We present a number of agricultural products in West Kalimantan at the location of the National STQ Culinary Exhibition located on the Courtyard of the Great Mujahidin Mosque in Pontianak," said West Kalimantan Head of the Department of Food Crops and Horticulture, Endang Kusumayanti, Monday (1/7).
Through the exhibition, he wants to introduce to the community both from West Kalimantan and participants from various provinces in Indonesia about the various kinds of agricultural products produced by the province. Pememkan agricultural products are superior products that can be purchased directly. "Our mainstay agricultural products from West Kalimantan are displayed and we sell them at our booth. People are welcome to see and buy," he said.
Some of the products displayed are, among others, aloe vera, Sambas siam orange, organic pineapple, nipah banana, breadfruit, jackfruit and various ornamental plants. Not only in the form of fruit, it also displays derivative products which are the result of processing carried out by business people in West Kalimantan.
"In fact, we also present agricultural derivative products from aloe vera, bananas, taro, oranges and others. These products are the products of the production of SMEs in West Kalimantan that we involve in the exhibition," he said.
He also hoped that through the exhibition, he would give new knowledge to the visitors of the booth about West Kalimantan's agricultural products, and grow their interest, especially millennials, towards agriculture. "We continue to invite the nation's children to become farmers, and be proud of farming," he concluded.
To note, the exhibition is a series of XXV National STQ which took place from 28 June to 6 July 2019 in Pontianak. The cast itself was divided into two locations, namely at the Pontianak Mujahidin Great Mosque focusing on culinary exhibitions, as well as agricultural products. Then the second location was in Taman Alun - Alun Kapuas which exhibited handicraft products and promotion of regional development throughout Indonesia. (Source Pontianak Post )
