There are various types of pempek. Ranging from submarines to pempek pistels. Although all this time identical to fried pempek, there are also pempek that do not need to touch oil. The submarine pempek, egg pempek, pempek lenjer, pempel kulit, pempek adaan and pempek tahu usually need to be fried before enjoying. Especially for pempek lenggang, the type of pempek lenjer is first mixed with duck eggs and then fried.

So, until now, the way to eat pempek is generally quite simple.

Pempek that has been chopped and still warm are placed on a plate, sprinkled with cucumber slices, and poured with the cuko sauce.

Simple and looks normal, right?. According to Palembang people, the cuko soup should not be sprinkled over the pempek. On the other hand, the serving of the cuko and pempek sauce must be separated.

This cuko broth is usually served in bottled form, and you need to pour it yourself into the container that has been provided. As for how to eat it, all you have to do is dip the pempek into the cuko broth and eat it right away.

After that, then you breathe in the cuko broth from the container like when you sip tea or coffee. Yup, for Palembang people, drinking cuko straight from the container is the right way to enjoy pempek, you know! The sensation is also different, and Palembang people think that the correct way to eat pempek will make it taste more delicious
