Grab Indonesia fired the GrabBike driver who hit pedestrians in Jatiwaringin, East Jakarta. The driver was proven to have committed a violation due to viral action on social media.
"Following the results of the investigation related to this incident, we have permanently dismissed the relevant driver partners because they have proven to have committed violations as informed in the mass media and social media," said Grab Indonesia Marketing Director, Mediko Azwar in a statement on Wednesday (8/8 / 2018).
Mediko also said that he regretted what happened to the pedestrians due to the driver's failure. Grab is committed to rigorously selecting drivers, including background issues to criminal records.
"Grab continues to conduct a rigorous selection process in the recruitment of driver partners including their criminal background and records - and is committed to continuing to invest in the driver partner selection and training process, as well as other safety initiatives," Mediko explained.
