Pontianak. The Tanjungpura University Language Engineering Implementation Unit (UPT in Untan Language) always schedules the community service program (PKM) every year, this year to coincide with the celebration of the 74th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia. Untan Language UPT holds a seminar on teacher competency development and TOEFL training for teachers at Kubu Raya and Pontianak areas.
At the two-day teacher competency development seminar from 17-18 August, the UPT Bahasa Untan brought speakers from York University, England and Tanjungpura University. Meanwhile, at the TOEFL training, 27 registered participants will be professionally trained by UPT Language Teaching Teams for Masters and Doctoral Graduates from domestic and abroad for three weeks.
"Untan Language UPT oversees American Corner, British Corner, French Shop, Japan Corner and Korea, we are trying to do the combination, so we often bring guests or speakers from America, this time we bring guests from United Kingdom (UK), England, York University "said the Head of the Untan Language Unit, Stella frenchca (17/08/2019).
He said the teachers were prepared to register for the Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Program for International Teachers (DAI Fulbright), a Teacher exchange program in the United States for one semester, one of the requirements that had to be passed was the TOEFL score.
Stella Frenchca hopes that this 74th independence day celebration, various activities held by the Untan Language UPT increase the spirit of independence, so that the quality of teachers in West Kalimantan, especially Pontianak, continues to grow and the quality of their students can also rival the quality of national human resources.
