Help us to keep our home
Day 02 - Friday November 20th , 2009
By Asep Haryono

Having finished reading my part one before continuing this part three?. Well, I would like to suggest you all, my loyal readers, to get back a few minutes to read 20 years Anniversary Of Kang Guru Indonesia - Part One to get better understanding the entire stories

As usual like yesterday, I have to mix Indonesia and English to give a better understanding the entire articles for those whose reading habit is using Bahasa Indonesia.

As I have mentioned before in my previous posting that all Kang Guru Indonesia champions have been planned to stay at Puri Dalem Hotel located in Jalan Hangtuah, Sanur, Bali. We never ask why Ogi Yutarini, Project Coordinator , decided to choose the hotel. We never know.

Perhaps she tought that the hotel was very strategic location not too far to the Kang Guru head office based in Denpasar, and the hotel could be a good way of Bali’s exploring. The hotel, as far as we can see clearly , that offered Balinese decoration with traditional Bali architecture, and the location of the hotel was only around five minutes accessible to International Airport. So let's start the program now, ladies and gentlemen.

DAY 02- Jumat , 20 Nopember 2009
KangGuru Indonesia Office

The representative of Indonesia KangGURU, Champion, was getting ready at the Hotel Puri Dalem around at 08.00 morning , Bali's time. I and sthe other six Champions of the Kang Guru Indonesia had breakfast at the Puri Dalem Restaurant with a standard menu. The menu we ate during the time was quite great and really good.

The restaurant inside the hotel was also fully equipped mini WiFi facilities for Internet connections , but unfortunately not everyone can access the Internet at this hotel because it must have a special password to Log In to the hotel internet connection. The services only available for the hotel's guests only to get permission and allowed by the hotel management to access the internet.

I checked my watch in my hand showed at 09.00 Bali's time and all Kang Guru Indonesia champions went immediately to the Indonesia Australia Language Foundation building (I / A / L / F) which located on Jalan Sesetan, Denpasar, Bali. We used a metered taxi, and we took two cabs all together to take me to the building.

We just paid only around Rp.40.000,- (Fourty Thousand Rupiahs) to take us into the IALF Building on jalan Sesetan , and the cost was fairly low, probably because of the distance between our hotel stay, Puri Dalem and the building IALF Sesetan close enough. The amount we spent for paying the cab around that Rp.40.000,- (Fourty Thousand Rupiahs) will be replaced by reimbursement system. we had to complete the payment prove stand alone or a a receipt, unless you will not get reimbursement for expenses that you paid.

During at the IALF Building, around at 10.00 WIB, all the Kang Guru Indonesia champions get together again and received general briefing again delivered by Kevin Dalton , Project Manager of The Kang Guru Indonesia, at the building.

I , Suryadi (Madura) , and Saptari Wibowo (Medan) were requested to give around 30-minute-presentation about our attendance at International Youth Conference (IYC) which successfully held in Bali last 28th September to 2nd October, 2009. The three of us were representative of the KangGuru Indonesia in the meeting.

The next posting , part Three , were some stories of the celebration of Kang Guru Indonesia 20 years and there will more and more photos there too. Here also presented some parties held at the Australian Commission in Sanur in the different article. (Asep Haryono)

I would like to apologize for not posting my latest articles for several days due to I have to finish my business with Rumahweb hosting and domain company based in Jogjakarta. As I have mentioned in my previous articles "My blog has been suspended" by the company due to overdue payment which have been limited in February 26th, 2012.

I am pleased to know that one of my primary blogs has been returned back online again since a few days ago. Having paid the amount of around $ 8,25 USD or equal to around Rp.75.000,- (Seventy Five Thousand Rupiahs) for payment of the next three months, now the system has allowed the blog to be recovered again. I am proud to announce to all people here that one of my blogs, www.asepharyono.com , has been returned back online again as usual.

History of my website
Actually I have a little bit confusing with the content of the website whose vision are similar to the webpage or homepage. In the other interpretation, the content is daily update which similar to blogging activities. Regarding the lay out or the architecture of the page could be in every way and you can name it after you have sen the lay out of the site.

I would like to invite you to visit Asep Haryono site before giving your opinions for a few seconds if you want. Having seen the site, then I will give you more and more time to decide is that a blog or a web page?. As website content updater or administrator of the site, I would like to stress that the type of the site is remain website not a blog however I might post or submit latest articles every day.

Basically it does not really matter for every one or blogger, right?. As long as you post or submit every latest article every day or a few couple days a week, they can be considered as blog. A blog platform now can be variety according your need. Some people said the type of the blog could be the same as website and vice versa; type of a website can be in the form of a blog pattern. It does not really matter for blogger. It just a name matter only.

I started design a website in 1995 (when still at univ-red) , and I worked on my own with using HTML (hypertext Mark Up Language) only. I have learned the code of the HTML when I was at univ at FKIP UNTAN. I used cyber Untan or BPJIU (Badan Pengelola Jaringan Internet Universitas) which located very close to the campuss of the FKIP Untan.

I would like to express my gratitude for some Cyber Untan staff at the time whose skills have been delivered to me for IT and website learning such as Irfan Rismayandi, Eko Wahyudi , Teguh Santoso , Zulkarnaen, and some other Cyber untan staff which I was not able to remember their name. I knew their face, but I forgot the name.

They taught me on website designing using the HTML code and allowed me to use the computers available on the Cyber Untan without paying much money. I still remember all users of the net should write down on the paper the time they start using the net, and must back again to pay for their net fees after finishing using it. I heard the sytem now being replaced by the billing system on the computer screen right?

RumahWeb Jogjakarta
I used free template , free domain names, and free hosting all together. I still remember the first time I used the geocities and angelfire free hosting services (now it disspear already-red) , for several years. I copied the source code of the website online, and I try to edit the code (because of I knew little bit about the HTML coding) and became a fresh and unique website with my creations. Huaaaaaaaa.

Time is changing very quickly , since around 2005, I registered my paid domain name and hosting "www.asepharyono.com" at Indosite Jakarta for five years. I was not satisfied with their services and support, then I moved all my data from the Indosite to Plaza Hosting domain services based in Bali for one year only. Again I did not get satisfaction with their services. A few months later, I decided to use RumahWeb based in Jogjakarta ever since.

I love using the rumah web domain and hosting services based in Jogjakarta, Central Java due to their excellent and awesome services for loyal customer like me. Ehm ehem.

They provided many kinds of contact information which can be used by customers such as email , telephone , faxes , or online contact form where we can chat up with their representatives online.

The rumahweb also provides tickets services which can be used as media to bridge their customers and providers get together in solving problems. Once you submit the problem with their ticket service, then their expert technicians will be back to you less than 24 hours. Awesome services.

The rumahweb is not only for maintaining business services between the customers and the company, they also provide some free information for the customers or non customers to get more information about the internet, CMS , tools and applications as well. I recommend you to use the rumahweb as one of your best hosting and domain references.

Fact About ww.asepharyono.com
I have seen many times about my website right here with the high level domain address at http://www.asepharyono.com and I have seen many changes since the website has been developed for years.

It came after
making many revisions from old fashion and free hosting services such as Geocities , Angelfire, Tripod and also from Brinkster. All those free hosting services gave me much profit and benefits from creating free websites by using many free templates available on the Internet. What happen now?

I have developed my website in every way. First of all, I created many contents with HTML only and designed them by using HTML editor and put the HTML codes into those free hostings mentioned above.

I am not satisfied with their facilities in which I am not able to create many creative contents and features in addition to those HTML format. Times goes by , I redesigned the websites by using basic content management system in the year of around in 2009 or something. I cannot remember well though.

Since around 2008 , if I was not mistaken , I tried to redesign and edited my website like Pro by registering high level domain and hosting services from Indosite Jakarta for 5 years. I found many errors and got many trouble from this domain and hosting provider based in Jakarta.

A few years later, I moved all contents of my previous hosting and domain services in
Indosite Jakarta, and moved to Plaza Hosting which based in Denpasar Bali. Again and again I got many troubles and difficulties in using services in the Plaza Hosting. Since around 2010, if I was not mistaken again, I moved all contents and hosting from previous the plaza hosting service into rumahweb based in Jogjakarta.

I was so happy in using the rumahweb based in Jogajarta, Central Java , for their best and good quality services for customer like me. The staff and Customer Services and admin personell are pro and capable of taking care of my trouble and difficulties.

I registered my website, www.asepharyono.com from that rumahweb hosting and domain providers based in Jogjakarta for many years until now. I changed the lay out and appearance of my website from local and simple HTML into simple and basic content management system (CMS) Joomla 1.5 version from Siteground I knew there are lots of joomla version, but I prefer to use the old fashion , Joomla 1.5, due to I was familiar with its contents, navigator, facilities and control panel

Traffic and Rank
It was not easy as I think about the traffic and rank of my website. I followed all information and instructions from many friends from several forums and also social network communities such as kaskus, sctv community, indosiar and many others forum.

I tried to find out many simple and easiest way of improving my website traffic including submitting many free website directories based on Search Engine Optimization (SEO). The result might be different from many pro and outstanding website, I guess.

But who knows yah. I checked my page rank from many page rank checkers available on the internet such as Alexa , Rank Checker and Page rank checker tools. I found two page rank websites to check my website's traffic and popularity. I have enclosed herewith two results of those page rank checker that I have found which you might find interesting.

Checked with http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/asepharyono.com#trafficstats
Now you can see my Alexa Traffic Rank is 4.531.895, and 29 in Reputation

Checked with http://www.prchecker.info/check_page_rank.php
You can see very clearly that my page rank is 3 from the scale 1 to 10 or 3/10

Checked with http://www.rankchecker.com/pagerank-checker/#www.asepharyono.com
You can see that the domain is VALID and Traffic Rank is 4.531.895. This is very interesting due to the traffic rank here has the same result with Alexa with the total rank is 4.531.895. We can see that the traffic number is VALID too

Now you can compare this website traffic with your own website or blogs. I am still looking for good back links and promote my website in every search engine which is free , of course , and also maintaining my website with regular updating and posting relevant topic with original content to improve traffic and hopefully will improve the page rank too. It was a great job and duty for the year 2012 to maintain my traffic remain 3, or even making it better become higher page rank at sometime in the future.

Could I add however that from the domain age and whois details, I am able to find out that my website domain age has been existed for
4 years 5 months 19 days (According to Whois created on 02.10.2007). and the website has been registered at 2007-10-02 and Expiration date at 2012-10-02 , well wonderful. Amazing. I cannot imagine that the domain name I used here has been lasting for around 4 years. . (Asep Haryono)

Memories Of November 19th to 22nd , 2009
By Asep Haryono

Having returned from Kuala Lumpur , attending Youth Engagement Summit 15 to18 November 2009 at Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) Kuala Lumpur Malaysia , my flight with KLM landed succesfully at Soekarno Hatta International Airport in Jakarta, Indonesia. I have another plan to Bali tomorrow, so I did not have much time to return to my parent's in Bekasi.

I decided to stay one night at a friend located around the SOETTA to catch up the flight to Bali tomorrow morning. I was staying at Muhammad Arif Julianto (Seachange participant too-red) at her war house around Grogol.

I was not able to return home to Pontianak that day due to I had to catch up the flight to Bali to attend 20 years of Kang Guru Indonesia celebration. Today a little bit different posting due to I have to mix Indonesia and English to give a better understanding the entire articles for those whose reading habit is using Bahasa Indonesia. All this actual event conducted last November 2009, and I wrote again for my memories only. Basically you may read this one too absolutely

Ogi Yutarini , Project Manager of KangGuru Indonesia, have planned to give all Kang Guru Indonesia champions to stay at one of the budget hotels in Bali, around Sanur location , and the selection goest o Puri Dalem Hotel located in Jalan Hang Tuah 23 around Sanur. The Puri Dalem Hotel is just a short walking distance stroll to Sanur Beach where white sandy beach make the sunrise the most beautiful thing to memorize in Bali.

Staying At PURI DALEM

I flew from Soekarno Hatta International Airport exactly at 11.35 WIB , Thursday, at 19 November 2009, again with Garuda Indonesia Aircraft flight number GA 406. Flying to Bali can be reached around 1,5 hours from Jakarta.

Having landed smoothly at Ngurah Rai International Airport , I took a cab from the air port to take me at the Puri Dalem Hotel located in Jalan Hang Tuah. I paid around Rp.95.000,- , the driver took me to the hotel as I have planned before.

Telah menunggu di hotel Puri Dalem, 6 (enam) Perwakilan KangGURU Indonesia (biasa disebut dengan istilah Champion-red) antara lain Suryadi Ningrat (Champion Madura), Ririn Pudya (Champion Jakarta-Kediri), Fadhil (Champion Mataram – NTB), Saptari Wibowo (Champion Medan-SUMUT), dan Sri Keyko Rahayu (Champion Semarang- Jawa Tengah).

I was there quite late in the hotel, and there are my Kang Guru Indonesia champions were there already waiting for me absolutely. They were Suryadi Ningrat (Champion Madura), Ririn Pudya (Champion Jakarta-Kediri), Fadhil (Champion Mataram – NTB), Saptari Wibowo (Champion Medan-SUMUT), and Sri Keyko Rahayu (Champion Semarang- Jawa Tengah).

Instead of the Kang Guru Indonesia Champions invited to Bali to attend the 20 years celebration of the Kang Guru Indonesia, there were also around 15 people special guest being invited by the Kang Guru Indonesia either. Those 15 people selected from the Kang Guru Indonesia member whose partcipation actively in many competitions and quiz held by Kang Guru Indonesia magazine and website as well.

By night, around at 19.00 Bali's time absolutely , all of us here got general information and briefing from Ogi Yutarini, Project Manager Of Kang Guru Indonesia as usual. She took care of every information and cover up many things needed to succeed our programs during in Bali for years. Having finished her briefing, we all have to have for dinner.

Having finished her briefing, we all have to have for dinner. We went to Padang Small Restaurant "Sari Ratu" in different area of the hotel and can be reached within a walk. As I have mentioned in my posting before that having meals in Bali need more attention and handle with care. Regarding having meals in Bali should be very much my concern due to the area of Bali was not Moslem areas and all kind of the food available in Bali will be my priority to select from.

For Moslem like me is not allowed to eat pork, and all of the Kang Guru Champions are moslem too. We are not interested in "jajan" or buying some yummy food on the street like Bakso, Siomay, Batagor around in Kuta' street. We did not know for sure the material content of the meat they are selling, and well I think it is a good idea for us to find moslem warung around Kuta by noticing the "moslem mark" or moslem labelled in front of the warung.

DAY 02- Jumat , 20 Nopember 2009
IALF DENPASAR BALI

All Kang Guru Indonesia champions , including those 15 people special guest from all over Indonesia, the winners of KangGuru Indonesia competitions were ready to head to the Kang Guru Indonesia office located at IALF Building Jalan Sesetan Denpasar, Bali. We ate our free break fast first , with the voucher we had already , and we were having the break fast in relax way.

Not all guest at the lobby of the hotel could get access to the internet facilities, and the services were only for the hotel members only. If you were staying at the hotel, then you were able to access free 24 internet access any time. If you were guest only, then you were not able to. My watch in my hand showed 09.00 WIB, and we all ready to go to the IALF with two cabs.

With those argo cabs, not the blue bird groups as usual we took , the driver took me and the other six Kang Guru Indonesia champions to the IALF Building, while the other 15 people were using a small minibus to the same direction. We just paid around Rp.40.000,- (forty thousand rupiahs) only to cover the fees due to the location was quite close with the place we are staying at.

During at the IALF Building, around at 10.00 WIB, all the Kang Guru Indonesia champions get together again and received general briefing again delivered by Kevin Dalton , Project Manager of The Kang Guru Indonesia, at the building.

The three of us were representative of the KangGuru Indonesia in the meeting.

The next posting were some stories of the celebration of Kang Guru Indonesia 20 years and some parties held at the Australian Commission in Sanur in the different articles. (Asep Haryono)

Ogi ngGURU Indonesia At Volare FM
Sunday, 3 April 2011 For Listener Meeting
By Asep HaryonoOgi left Denpasar very early to catch the 10 o’clock flight to Pontianak. Do you know who is Ogi Yutarini from Kang Guru Indonesia? Well, if you have not recognized here, Ogi is one of the top managers at Kang Guru Indonesia in the field of Project Coordinator.

If you did not know about about us at the Kang Guru Indonesia and its their wonderful programs all across Indonesia, then I suggested you all to find the complete information to their official website at Kang Guru Indonesia which open 24 hours a day Seven Days a week.

Many local radios all across Indonesia broadcasted the Kang Guru Indonesia including all RRI Stations all over Indonesia either. The Kang Guru Indonesia has been completed its program last 2010, and they are waiting for further program called EPOS or Education Program Outreach Services which might start on June 2012 this year.

Today's posting is about the program at Radio Volare FM located in Jalan Sumatera Pontianak. This stories actually happened last Sunday, April 3rd , 2011 and I am pleased to retell the moment for you all my readers. A memories that we are not able to forget, a moment of the Kang Guru Indonesia visited at the Volare Fm and conducted some activities.

I have been invited by Bu Temi , Program Director of the Volare FM Pontianak , to welcome Ogi Yutarini to conduct some activities at the radio located in Jalan Sumatera Pontianak. I was already at the locatio a few minutes before Ogi. Then Ogi had to rush to Radio Volare FM. Mbak Temi, the station manager, with her students and other listeners were there already including me absolutely .

Usual Visit at Volare FM

Before the actual show conducted with the Kang Guru Indonesia and the Volare FM in Pontianak, a few days before, I have met a real action when the program of the Kang Guru Indonesia on air at the Volare FM. I have seen the real program hosted by one interactive English presenters at the location and I found out there two young girls , students of the high school , as their guest on the program, Yunita And Uwly Albab

I took some photos during this prrgram was running, and as usual, I released my primary digital camera , Nikon Cooplix L19 , to capture the moments with some photos taken, and recorded a small video during the show. You can watch the video along with this posting. You can hear and see the programs taken care of by the presenters in every way.

This is a discussion in English Program conducted on air at Volare FM Pontianak

The program lasted about one hour hosted by Miss Dini Haiti Zulfani dan and Miss Rienda as Interactive English Presenter. "Accroding to my point of view, by participate actively at school especially at the English cliub, we will able to get many chances to practice our English even better and we are happy to know the school always support this initiatives " said Yunita time during the show.

Programs On Location

The day has come. Ogi arrived at the Volare FM Radio that day, Sunday 3rd April 2011. Bu Temi, Program Director of the Volare FM Pontianak , has invited her students to attend the listener meeting broadcasted on the radio that day. They were from Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Pemerintahan Dalam Negeri in Pontianak. I tool some photos during the activities at the studio of the Volare FM Pontianak.

some of them listen to KGI regularly. The others only knew about KGI a week before that meeting. The response was positive. Here what they said: theme songs are great, background music should be off or make it very low when people talking, help of vocabulary is needed to help listeners catch the story, and 30 minutes show is better.

After two hours our visit finished but we managed to do two games and took pictures together at the end of the visit. I was so lucky to capture some of those photos during the presentation. I took them with my cheapest digital camera, Nikon Coolpix L19 , with auto mode. The photos taken described as follows :

According to Bu Temi , Program Director of the Volare FM , the existing Kang Guru Indonesia program on her radio not only focusing on turning the cassettes which have been prepared before every week.

But they were packed in interactive ways by providing different speakers or guest on every shows. She confirmed us to run the program to other schools in Pontianak and offered the teacher or students as our guest every week.

The program runs very well then on the studio, and the students of the participants of the presentation were keen to listen to the Kang Guru Indonesia program however some of them did not know for sure on the wave channel of the Kang Guru Indonesia broadcasted in Pontianak.

The Volare FM is another private sector of the radio which have been officially associated with the Kang Guru Indonesia to launch its program instead of the RRI Pro2 Pontianak.

Listeners Forum at RRI Sintang
By Asep Haryono

For almost two days, I accompanied Ogi from KangGURU Indonesia in Pontianak and Sintang. It happened 10th to 11st of Pebruary, 2010.

The schedule of KangGURU Indonesia in West Kalimantan were about evaluating KangGURU programs at Volare FM Pontianak and also at RRI Sintang.

In Sintang, KangGURU Indonesia also visited SMP 03 Kelam Permai in Sintang whichl supported by Indonesia Australi Partnership (AIP) and AusAID. KangGURU have planned to visit four AIBEP Schools such as SMP 4 Kuala Mandor B, SMP Terentang, SMP Teluk Pakedai. Unfortunately due to the locations of those schools were very far away from Pontianak, so we decided to invited them all in Pontianak. Ogi delivered some information to those representatives in Pontianak.

RRI Sintang - Listeners Meeting
