Help us to keep our home
At Aula Perpustakaan Daerah
By Asep Haryono

I was invited to give presentation at one day workshop for SMA Students administered by Pro Education English course on Saturday 25th of September 2010 at Aula Perpustakaan Daerah located in Jalan Soetoyou Pontianak. here are two sessions in the workshop .

One is presentation came from Ibu Eni Rosnija,MA from English Department of Tanjungpura University. Her presentation was about "how to speak English with effectively and fun" by using power point.

The main master of the ceremony during this event was Dwi Sasta Kanaya or well-known as DwiRaEmon have been working very good work presenting the schedule and the program during the day. She loved DoraEmon so much and her blog named after her fave anime of Japan.  As the keynote speaker during the workshop was Mr Ucup Supriyadi.  He did a great job in his awesome presentation about his visions and projects of his English Club

Two was mine.   My presentation is about "Learn English with KangGURU Indonesia online".  Learning English online is a great and fun too instead of getting information and entertainment, right.

I decided to useKangGURU Website (www.kangguru.org) and explained on many aspects from the website which they might find interesting including some English materials they might find on the website and podcast they could listen to.

I suggested the audiences to be more actively in the KangGURU FOrum on the website too. I presented in front of around 250 SMA students in Pontianak. The presentation was successful and lots of questions from students about the role of KangGURU Website to improve their learning of English.   Some of the students were really interested in getting latest Magazine of KangGURU Indonesia.

At the end of my presentation , there were a small contest.    I only had two small KG packages to give away.    Unfortunately, I did not receive KangGURU 2010 bulletin to show to audiences during the workshop.According to Principal of Pro Edcuation English course , Mr Ucup Supriadi , that the workshop has been closed one day before that day and more and more students were coming to our registration desk to be enrolled as participant.

Just take a look at some photos I took during this awesome event. The photos have not been published before, and I decided to post some of the photos here.  All right reserved by me absolutely.

KangGuru Champion and Dwi.

Around 250 students attended the workshop. Awesome

Did you a teacher seated on the left side of the students. Did you recognized here.  The photo was small, right. Well she was Madam Yeti Suyasti S.Pd. My senior in English Dept FKIP UNTAN

Ibu Eni Rosnija S.Pd asked a question to one of the participants during the workshop

Dwi in Action.  She holded Kang Guru goodies to give away

This is a place where the committee met and discussed before the workshop

Two excellent people during the workshop. Good person. Bang Ucup And Dwi Sasta Kanaya.  They did a great job organizing the workhop.  Well done
The Workshop
Meals.  We celebrated our succesful workshop with meals at KFC Ahmad Yani.  Awesome

I worked with a few friends from our course to handle more than 250 participants for this a half day workshop, and it was really amazing.  A lot of students must have been suspended to avoid too many people in this room" said Ucup Supriadi.

He also confirmed that the roadshow of Pro Education English course will be running to several cities in West Kalimantan such as Sintang, Ketapang, Sambas, and many other cities of West Kalimantan.   "We also planned to conduct a workshop for English teachers for SMA Students real soon after this one, and I hope anyone can let me know if they knew facilitatior or material providers to be contacted" said Ucup.

On behalf of the Kang Guru Indonesia based in Bali, I would like to express my gratitude for this invitation and I am pleased to work you again in the future.  I have had great times during the workshop, and I am looking forward to work together again with you all real soon.  I hope so and I know so.  (Asep Haryono)

First of all , I would like to express my gratitude for my new blogger joined into my group yesterday, Flfrida Chaniar , who expressed her idea and comment about my topic yesterday, Rujak Petis.

The rujak seller, Kang Asep Bandung , I met a few weeks ago, and I was pleased to know the rujak still exist in the place before, around the museum Pontianak. What a coinciden the name was really the same with mine. The first name was Asep, and my first name was it?

Since it was becoming one of my fave food , instead of rice of course , I have decided to choose the food to complete my dish at sometime in the future. However the taste was quite hot for the chili, I think some of you will certainly love the food either.

I have mentioned in my previous posting about the rujak petis which commonly found in every corner of the city in Pontianak particularly in the area corner around Jalan Ahmad Yani. If you have seen those people with the bad behind with many fruits on the basket, perhaps that is the Rujak seller. You can purchase the food with affordable price, a plastic glass of the rujak can be afforded around Rp.5.000,- (Five thousand rupiahs), and I think you can buy it if you like. Do you like the rujak petis as I do?
It happened again yesteday when I was passing around Jalan Ahmad Yani, especially a place in the corner around TK Islam Al Azhar or particularly in front of the Pempek "Ratu" after all.  I purchased another glass of the rujak petis at the sume of that five thousand rupiahs, and I bought two.  One was for me , and another one was for my wife.  I did not know that my wife loved the food too.   I dropped by for a moment in front of the pempek "Ratu" , across the road , and bought the rujak.

I released my digital camera again to capture the moment.  According to my experiences in tasting the rujak, I had my own opinion tha the rujak petis located around TK Islam Al Azhar or in front of the Pempek "Ratu" in Jalan Ahmad Yani as the most delicious rujak petis for all.   If you purchased the food here, your rujak petis will get additional peanut to make the food more good.    Please have a look two photos below

One thing I noticed for this man I met yesterday was about the place of origin of the food. I was not sure of the label "Rujak Bandung" here means by.  It was the rujak originaly coming from Bandung in Central Java?  Or about the person, the man who selling the food, was from Bandung?.  I did not know for sure as I did not know about the original creator of the rujak petis it self.   Do you know where the rujak petis was coming from? I did not know at all. You tell me.

Each time I purchased the rujak petis, I always put them in my refrigerator at home to get cool sensational, and I feel so good when I was having the rujak in cool however without ice.  I often put some ice too inside the rujak petis to get more cool, however the taste can be different because of the ice.  The small pieces of the fruit as raw material for the rujak petis was really fits for my stomach.  I would love to eat the rujak petis in a small portion.

Is he Kang Asep? Yes his name is.  Photo by Asep Haryono

Hi again with me Asep Haryono here.  How are you all today?  I hope everything is doing according the plan, and I am here doing just fine.  I hope you are all , my loyal readers wherever you are now , having good time these days , get much love and happiness every time  every day and every moment.  Today's story is a little thing about one of my fave food instead of nasi.  How about rujak?  Well , I am sure of every one of you recognize the rujak.  Our traditional food?  Absolutely.

Just look at the photo I took a few weeks ago on this blog. The photo taken in around Muzeum locate din Jalan Ahmad Yani Pontianak. Do you know the rujak is?   Perhaps a few friends here do not like the food due to it hot taste and can make your lips and tongue burning together..

Rujak (Rojak in English spelling?-red) is a combination of several pieces of fruit cut in small pieces, then given a sauce (spice-red) which is made from a mixture of bean sauce, brown sugar, chili, and sometimes still sprinkled with the paste. Any kind according to taste, dish salad would be refreshing if eaten after the main meal (eg lunch-ed).   I think there is a little different between the salad and the rujak in terms of contents of the food.  How about you? Do you like the salad too.

According to wikipedia mentioned that Rojak is a traditional food which is usually made from a mixture of various kinds of vegetables or fruit and spiked with spices or sauces. Salad easy to find in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore, and there called the "Rojak". While this type of type of salad in Indonesia there are many different kinds.

I have a unique experience at the first time I purchased a glass of the rujak mentioned above, The price of the Rujak Petis is around Rp.5.000,- or Five Thousand Rupiahs, and I think every one can afford the rujak petis. How about the taste? Hot , for sure.  Unlike the organic rujak or normal one, the Rujak Petis do not use the peanut sauce instead of gula merah and chile.  The color of the sauce is red dark as the result of the sugar.

It happened to this Rujak Petis a few weeks ago.  Having finished my KTP ( not e-KTP, not yet) in the office of Civil Registry and then proceed  to go home and back to the office through the streets Ahmad Yani. I passed the State Museum of West Kalimantan, I was suprised to see a banner name of the rujak seller "Kang Asep Bandung" which very close to my name. Awesome.  We had the same name.

I dropped for a while that time, and I decided to purchase a glass of the rujak with the man.  While the rujak seller is preparing the rujak as I ordered, I am looking the face of the seller, well his face does not look like me hehehhehehehee.  If you have the same name with somebody else does not mean you must have the same face with them, right?   The name could be the same, the face is another.  Hehehehee.

Do you like Rujak?  I do

I was so lucky able to attend MDGs seminar held in Jakarta as as one of Indonesian delegates on "Government and Parliamentary Synergy Progress Toward For Accelerating To Achieve MDGs by 2015" conference held at JW Marriott Kuningan Jakarta lastl 16 th to 19th of September 2010, I have some stories behind the conferences, fun with the Indonesian delegates and from other countries, food experiences and business contact.

During the conference , I personal y feel that there was lost atmosphere especially with the other participant of the conference which for me stiil far away from our main target , full of discussion. Most of the participant of the conference are from university students and staff of some local government all across Indonesia.

During the conference of Millenium Development Goal (MDGs) held at the JW Marriot Kuningan from 16 to 19 of September 2010, all participants of the conference from Indonesian delegates and other countries stayed at the POP Haris Tebet Jakarta. Today's stories is a small memories I have had during staying at the hotel.

There are two other countries as their primary native speakers during the conference, they are from the Philippines, and Thailand.  Those two countries were invited to tell some information on the achievement of the MDGs in their countries.  However from Indonesia, the local government of D.I Yogjakarta has been invited to present the seminar too.  Some representatives from friendly countries such as Singapore Indonesia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Brunei Darussalam and other countries have been presented the seminar too.

Pop Harris Jakarta With Love

Let's forget those boring stories about the MDGs conference, and I felt boring too to post the details on this posting. I just want to post some interesting whatever it takes for my readers , and I hope this part will be interesting for you all either.  Staying at Pop Harris Tebet Jakarta. Having posted the wonderful moment at All Seasons in Bali, now I try to post about the Pop Harris Jakarta in today's story.

Unlike the POP Haris in Denpasar Bali, the POP Haris Tebet Jakarta is more sophisticated and well-organised hotel with wonderful experiences for their guess.  The Pop Haris Tebet located in the heart of Jakarta's central business district.  The hotel location is only 10 minutes from prime Jakarta entertainment spots and restaurants, and 45 minutes from Cengkareng International Airport.

READY TO GO : Participants of the MDGs conference ready to heading to JW Mariott.  Photo Asep Haryono

It was very difficult to know more about the POP Haris Tebet for myself, so I decided to look for the information from other references. The POP Haris Tebet Jakarta has aroyund 180 Harris rooms and suites featuring contemporary Design , Satellite Television , Mini-bar , Tea & Coffee Facilities , Laundry Service , Aromatherapy and  FREE WiFi Internet as well.

Simply exciting. Fun activities for guests of all sizes. Relaxation at the pool. Playtime in the Kids Corner. A soothing massage in the spa. Leisure facilities include  Swimming Pool ,  Kids Corner (Weekend) ,  Fitness Centre , Spa and Reflexolog too.  All those facilities are available to those who want to stay at the POP Haris Tebet.  The fee for one night at the hotel starting from Rp. 678.000 net for one or two persons.

Cool Room

Indonesian delegates started staying at the POP Haris Tebet by night, particulary near Magrib time around 18.10 WIB, having seen the JW Marriott for briefing for the conference in the following days.   All Indonesian delegates received the key for one room.  All participants of the MDGs conference should use one room for two persons, and I was so luck to have alone in my room, 707

There is a little story behind the room 707 at the time I have been paired with two persons from different board , still in Indonesia delegates. Unfortunately those two persons were not happy living in the room due to the spaces quite small for them.  I did not pay attention to this, but they were seems very pleasure to give the room for myself alone.  That is fine for me of course.

Please take a look at some photos I took during the lobby and reception rooms including inside the room 707, my room.  I have taken some other photos at the same time, but I decided to select some small portions to avoid too much images here.  I think it was cool to display some photos or images on this posting to give clearer situation based on the photos instead of words, right?

Take a look at the photos I took  below :

Nice Restaurant

It is now for me to tell you about the food, and the meals.  Do you like the food as I do?.   I and other Indonesia delegates during the MDGs conference at the JW Marriot there went together to inside restaurant at the Pop Haris Jakarta.  I felt so much fun and great sensations at the first time I saw the situation and the style of the restaurant at the POP Haris Jakarta.

Such a sweet sensations really which I have never felt like this before.   All participation members can taste some food available to grab inside the restaurant including lunch on Indonesian favorites and Asian delights.  My friends and me got some snack on Harris pastries at the same time and got some fresh water or drinking a glass of Harris orange juice.  You can get warmed up for fun with a Harris cocktail too

As usual, I prepared my digital camera and start capturing some moments at that time.  Just take a look at some photos I took during having meals, and breakfast at the restaurant inside the POP Haris Tebet Jakarta.  The photos displayed as follows :

See You Again

Some of the Indonesia delegates at the time requested me to join with them at the swimming pool ahead of the restaurant after the break fast. I told them that I was not able to swim.  Do you believe that I cannot swim every one? That is the fact, and I cannot swim at all.  I appreciated their requested, so I decided to accompany with them at the swimming pool.  Looking at them from the edge of the pool.

Some participant, Indonesia delegates from Jakarta, requested me to join with them to have for dinner around Tebet by walking at night around at 20.00 WIB, well I cannot refuse their request at this time.  I have refused their request in the swimming pool, and I did not want to disappoint them again this time.  I decided to join with them.  We walked through the streets around the hotel to go warung or cafe close the hotel.

Some of the Indonesian delegates were joined together including me, and I feel like a reunion members of the Youth Engagement Summit last 2009 in Kuala Lumpur due to some of them were participant on that meeting.   Someone took the photo when having the dinner at that time, and the photo have been published again on this posting.  I forgot the name of the person who took the photo of our dinner that time.

DINNER :  For left to right Deslina, Yofrina, Setywati, Raymon Sembiring, ADM ,  Anggun, me, ADS, Mita Mardiah and the right lady with kerudung is Sri Lihayat from Jakartai.  The last name I mentioned, Sri Lihayati, was in Pontianak for one month last April 2012.  I met her with Hulq. Thanks again for having Simpang Ampek in Gajah Mada Pontianak ya.

SWIM : I cannot swim ladies and gentlemen.  Hehehe. I decided to seat back at the edge of the swimming pool. A friend of mine took this photo for me. Thanks bro.  Photo by Raymon Sembiring

INDONESIA DELEGATES : I took photo together with some other Indonesian delegates on MDGs conference at the JW Mariott Kuningan Jakarta. I knew some of them and met them during YES Conference in Kuala Lumpur last 2009.  Photo someone

I think that will be all for now. It is very very short stories right?.   In the next posting, If have spare times, I have planned to post some stories during the MDGs conference at the JW Mariott Jakarta including some touring locations at the Batavia Cafe, Mekarsari Bogor, Ciater, Musium Bank Indonesia and many other interesting stories.  Insya Allah.  To be continued.   (Asep Haryono)

Hello everyone. How are you today? Today's posting is a small thing. I do not know for sure for how long I will write. You can guess where the article are heading to by just looking at the title of my posting today "My brand new MIO".

MIO? Yes that is very common name for biker, it is a brand name of motor cycle produce in Indonesia especially in West Kalimantan. It is belong to me? Well actually there is not belong to mine, and the MIO is my wife's property, and I sometimes use the MIO for some locations around in Pontianak.

As matter of fact , we have had two motor cycles at the moment, one is Honda Supra Fit KB 3815 HY and Yamaha MIO, KB 2040 UT and those vehicles played very important roles to support our daily activities.

There was a story behind the reason we decided to purchase , through credit absolutely , that brand new motor cycle which I would love to share with all of the readers here.

Need More Transportation
It is not an easy thing to decide purchasing a new motor cylce if the time is not right and appropriate these days especially when we need to purchase more important things for our children, for food, for school tuition, for my own needs and for our kitchen which need to be aware of.

Since the last three years , I took my pride taking care of riding my wife to Rasau in Kabupaten Kubu Raya.   As you have not known before that my wife has been teaching English  at SMA Negeri 1 Kubu Raya Kecamatan Kubu.  If you are living in Pontianak, you need to ride your vehicle again until the Rasau Port.  You can continue the journey through the water transportation via Kapal Paket or relate boat to the Rasaw.

The problem arouse when that only one motor bike should take and bring my son at Al Azhar Pontianak as the same time with ridining my wife to the Rasau.  I picked up and took my son at the Al Azhar three times a week, and I used the same motor bike, Honda SUpra Fit.

In order words, the only one motor cycle has been used for many reasons, for many goals. We depended on the only bike to do many things, taking my wife to Rasau, picking up my son at Azhar Pontianak, and my needs to go the office every day. It was really very tiring and need more concentration to do many things with only one transportation.

That is our primary reasons why we had nothing else to do, we had nothing option again beside taking this decision : purchasing another one motor cycle.  The option falls to Yamaha production, and I do not know why my wife decided to use Yamaha instead of Honda.  I have using the Honda since around 2005,  and I was satisfied with the bike due to Gasoline consumption is very little, very effective cost.

Credit Option Payment
Having discussed very intensively a few days before we decided to purchase through BAF , financial leasing company , we have agreed to choose the Yamaha for another motor bike.  My wife has decided to comply with all rules, including method of payment from the BAF to set up everything in terms of taking MIO at home.

The date has come, around a few months ago,  witnessed by me and my son,  the MIO bike arrived safe and sound at my home at Komplek Duta Bandara Permai Blok C6/14 around Supadio, Pontianak    A staff and crew from the Yamaha Pontianak brought the motor through their car to my home,  and I took some photos during the signing process and hand over celebration at home.

My wife signed some BAF rules and obligations to comply,  and the process of hand over the motor has been successfully conducted that day.  As new customer of the Yamaha,  my wife received many goodies from the Yamaha for this purchasing process such as hand glove , red jacket, helmet,  and small bag.  Having signed the letter of Memorandum of understanding, my wife received the key.   The MIO now officially owned by my wife.

GIFT : Jacket, Hand Gloves, Helmet and other stuff as your gift for this purchasing process. My wife loves red color,  while I loves black one. Photo by Asep Haryono

My wife was pleased to get the MIO as she would love to get a new one as she has been dreaming of.  In other words, we decided to afford a new motor bike is for "gaya gayaan" or for fashion only just to make people impress to us that we have two motor cylces.   We decided to purchase the MIO due to many important reasons.

One of the reasons is about the time consuming.  It was really very tiring and need more time to take care of taking and bringing some things to the different areas with the only one motor bike.  By having the two bikes can be hope that business can run smoothly ,  and for this reason my wife does not have to wait for me to take or bring her home.

I used to drive the MIO for weeks just to feel how look alike driving the Yamaha Mio, taking care of and picking my son from and to Al Azhar Pontianak.  I felt the MIO is good enough and easy to operate due to I don't have to use the gear system like HONDA has.

I need only a few hours to know that the MIO is fun and easy to ride.   How about HONDA like my motor bike, well, I would love to use the HONDA productions instead of the Yamaha.  I have been riding on my HONDA KB 3815 HY since 2005, and based my experiences I can say that the HONDA is very excellent and efficiency in fuel consumption.  How about you?  (Asep Haryono)

A Failure Cracking AttemptBy Asep Haryono

Today, I got an alert coming to my cell phone, an alert notification said " You recently tried to recover the password through your secret question for ce****1. Not you? More info http://us.r.yahoo.com" from the number4246000. I got two SMS with the same content.
Awesome.

Without thinking over and over again, I was very convince that someone or somebody out there wanted to steal my password for that email account. My email at cepot71@yahoo.com has become a target of a hacking attempt.

Just look at the information I received from my inbox. "On March 26, 2012, at 11:43 pm CDT, your account activity shows that you tried to recover your account password for Yahoo! ID cepot71. You may reset your password on March 27, 2012, after 11:43 pm CDT by answering the secret questions you chose for your account.

For security reasons, the option to reset your password via secret question will expire on April 02, 2012, at 11:43 pm CDT". I can confirm never feel change any password, or profile at the email.

How do you choose a password then?
If your password falls into the wrong hands, someone can easily impersonate you while online, sign your name to online service agreements or contracts, engage in transactions, or change your account information. So, choose your password carefully and then keep it safe from others.

I never changed my password for the last few months recently, and I have had authentic prove that unknown people (someone or somebody) has tried two times to break through my email at cepot71@yahoo.com and he or she did not know my password.

I supposed the suspected person have been trying to guess the password by using three options to hack the password of my email at yahoo.

Three optional selection that the hacker did not know the answer were first, my primary or alternative email at a***@*************.com . second my secret question , and the third my cellphone number. The system at the yahoo system always send notification email anytime I changed my password , and profile as well.

Image taken from yanuaratp.blogspot.com

Choose A PasswordOn this case, I never feel change any password, or profile at the email, and why the system of the Yahoo sent me the notification? Obviously, my email has become a target of hacking activities . Do you want to know on how to choose a good password for your email? I got the information from the most up-to-date information from the Yahoo. The following information from the Yahoo which you might find interesting.

How to choose a good password. The Yahoo recommends you to :
  1. Choose a password you'll remember. It should be memorable for you (so that you don't have to write it down or leave it in the open), but difficult for others to guess.
  2. Avoid using a word. Avoid a complete word from a dictionary (English or otherwise) or a name.
  3. Use at least 7 characters. The more characters your password contains, the harder it is for someone to guess it. A long but simple password can be safer than a short, complex one — and often easier to remember.
  4. Use a combination of capital and lowercase letters, numbers, and standard symbols (! @ # $ % ^ & *). Your Yahoo! password is case-sensitive, which means that a capital letter A is different from a lowercase a.
  5. Don't use personal information that someone could easily figure out. Avoid a password based on information easily obtained about you (like your birthday, your child or pet's name, phone number, license plate number, employer, school name, automobile brand, or street name). Don't use a password you already use for another account, such as your bank account PIN. And don't use your Yahoo! ID (or other user name) in any form (such as reversed, capitalized, or doubled).
  6. Avoid the obvious. Don't make it easy for attackers by repeating a digit or letter (like "111111" or "FFFFFF") or any other common sequence of characters (like "123456"). Stay away from obvious passwords such as "test" or "password." When you change your password, change several characters; don't just append a number like "2" to the end. And make sure anyone watching you enter your password can't guess it as you type (such as a password typed using a single hand, like "qwerty").
  7. Put a new spin on a familiar phrase. Pick a favorite phrase or lyric for your password. To shorten it, substitute letters with a number or a standard symbol or remove vowels. For example, "fredsboy" can be made into "Fr3d$boy." Shorten "two tickets to paradise" to "2Tickets2Paradiz," or combine "cat" and "dog" into "cAt!Do8."
  8. If you use a password generator, be careful. Make sure you can identify and trust the creator of a password management or generator program. Never share any personal information unless you trust the company or person you're working with. Online password-generator programs can help you create a random password that is generally harder to crack but also more difficult to remember. You can find password generators in the Yahoo! Directory cat

Reset Password or Change Regularly
When there is an attempt to recover your account, the yahoo system will continue to hide your option to reset your password via your secret questions and answers. Please update your password-reset info. If you forget your password in the future, we will use this information to help you reset it. If you believe your account has been compromised, ple
ase change your password now. Choose a strong password.

It is a good idea for you NOT to write simple password such as the date of your birthday, city of birth, your parent name or anything that make the hacker can get through with them. Those combination were very weak, and get accessed very easy by someone else. Please try to make very difficult combination for your security such as the combination of number, or letters to make the password looks very strong.

It is a good idea for you too to change or update the password in a regular basis for example one in three months, or once in the other six months. Try to create a unique ones to avoid guessing by someone else. Just be careful when you are using the public places to access the internet such as net cafe or in Indonesia we called them "Warung Internet".

Not answering or replying unkown people whose email addressed to you if you were feeling never contacting them in return. Just ignore or delete those unknown email for your security.
I f you receive an email from a web site or company urging you to provide confidential information, such as a password or Social Security number, you might be the target of a phishing scam. All info about the phishing attack can be looked at here

The tips below can help you avoid being taken in by phishers. Important: To be completely safe from phishers, do not click links in emails. If in doubt, close your browser, reopen it, and type the web address for the site you want to visit directly into the Address bar. You should consider several factors when deciding whether or not an email is authentic. This example email has some telltale signs of a phisher at work.

Have a nice and safe browing
